#Mood.
Summary: keep pushing. 
We had a #contest last Saturday in #huntingtonbeach. I delayed posting about it because I was very unhappy with my result. When I got out of the water after my heat i threw my board on the ground in #frustration.  I’m #*%@ sick of finishing 7th. I’m sick of not placing. Sometimes it seems like no matter how hard I #work or how much time I put in it doesn’t help. Sometimes I don’t want to walk back down to the #gym again. I’m sick of putting so much of myself into this and coming up short. 
Here’s the fact though: the voice in my head telling me to be #discouraged is the WRONG voice to listen to. The #champion has a short term memory as my friend @ricktak11 would say. The #warrior doesn’t give any regard to what has already happened, only looks to what’s ahead, how to better prepare, always improving, fighting, struggling but always to come out better. 
I know this is long-winded and another in a sea of #motivational posts. But I wanted to open up and be real about the #journey. This is exactly why we do what we do. It’s what sets the #elite apart from the #mediocre. Because the #victory is so much sweeter when it’s fought hard for.

🚨SPEED ENDURANCE SESSION🚨 back to the hard speed endurance work and it’s been a while. Great to be back on the hard stuff.

1K warm up, drills and dynamic stretching to build up.

Then in to 8 x 800m reps with 200m slow recoveries 🏃‍♂️ I am building back up so speed is not where it was. But that is ok and to be expected. So I went largely off heart rate rather than being to worried about speed. My aim was to get up to around 90% of my max heart in the reps and I managed to hit that sort of 155 - 165 bracket. Hard ✅ Great session ✅ Building back up ✅ ~~
1K very slow cool down and lots of stretching to finish. A good day! 😁👍
