RESULTS: - Recent results from my client Xiaomin @bxmlyjz. I started with her two months ago just as I was beginning my journey as an FP practitioner, and boy did it expose my incompetence in decoding biomechanics real quick. After a lot of experimentation and undergoing many sessions that did not feel productive at all(and sometimes even counterproductive), it became clear to me that producing intrinsic changes to an individual’s biomechanics takes a lot of effort on both parties. Thank you so much to @functionalpatterns for providing the incredible tools for making these changes. - Although we still have a lot to work on, I am happy with the progress so far, especially in activating the deep front line. In pictures 3 & 4 notice the difference in spinal movement: picture 3 is rounding only at certain segments of the spine while picture 4 is a more continuous rounding, with much more length out of the hamstrings (look at distance between knee & pelvis). Raw Training blog: no. 14 . Hit some OHP yesterday. I’m also following the 5/3/1 programming for this movement as well, so I did 3 total sets of 5 with 115lbs, 135lbs, and 150lbs for this week. . Again the goal is to increase my max from 195lbs to 215lbs within the next several months. I’d even be happy with 205, but I think 215 is a good goal to aspire. . I had gone out the night before so I wasn’t feeling super strong, but I was still able to make the weight move decently well.

Using two dumbbells instead of a barbell for a snatch solves shoulder mobility issues that sometimes pop-up when the hands are tethered to a wide, internally rotated grip on a barbell. Sitting down on a bench instead of standing makes this movement entirely upper body dominant, creating virtually no allowance for cheating (once the weight is heavy enough). In short, there will only be one way to lift the load overhead. This is a hell of a way to blast the shoulders and upper traps while you’re at it too. #hypertrophy #strengthtraining #shoulderworkout #upperbodyworkout #snatch #dumbbellsnatch #olympiclifting #overheadpress

I always post the achievements, but I gotta show the short comings too.... the SNATCH will be the death of me! It’s such a technical move that I just can’t do. working on getting under bar faster... but I did end up hitting that’s right after........ then the CLEAN AND JERK.... 175lbs is that roadblock weight for me! I always get stuck when I get to it, then once I hit it, I’m able to keep climbing just fine! It’s such a mental thing for me!
