BBG Stronger Week 1 felt really upper body focused, specifically back & shoulders 🔥 so I thought it’d be a good time to take some progress pics of my back...obviously this is not my back....why am I posting this picture instead?

I will be the first to admit that this particular pose, these high-waisted leggings, my fave filter & that leopard print carpet on the stairs are doing wonders for my figure right now 🐆 #meow but ya girl can also celebrate some self-love & acceptance when it strikes.

When’s the last time you looked at yourself like this in the mirror? When you caught your reflection in a window? Sometimes I struggle on this journey because the progress pics don’t show much change or I’m still uncomfortable in my jeans or the scale hasn’t moved in months. But if I measure my progress by how I feel? Well then my face says it all 🙌🏼 I feel stronger, fitter, empowered, more confident. My muscles will catch up to my mind eventually but until then I’ve got high-waisted leggings 😏

reminiscing on this pic I took the other day bc this is SO not what i’m looking like rn 😂 after a weekend of yummy food and drinks to celebrate two v important bdays, I feel like a potato. but a happy potato. 🥔😂 life is about balance and if you are on a true fitness journey, that’s not just a phase, you’ll know that every now and then you have these moments and fluctuations but because your journey has become your lifestyle, you don’t worry. you know that you’ll get back to where you were in no time. AND you know that 1 weekend of not the healthiest consumptions won’t make you fat or gain a thousand pounds or whatever, JUST LIKE 1 weekend of eating purely salads or super duper healthy won’t make you magically skinny 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 life’s all about balance people ☯️

Vegan Poke Bowl with miso ginger marinated Sweet Potatoes 
Happy Sunday my loves! 
Here is a quick and easy way to reuse your leftovers and make a brand new dish out of them. 
I had left over baked sweet potatoes from the night before. I marinated them in a spicy miso ginger marinate for 10 min and put this poke dish together. All you need to assemble this dish together is some left over rice (use cauliflower rice for #keto or #grainfree version), fresh carrots, avocados, cucumbers, green peas and some pea sprouts. Here is a recipe for the marinade. 
Makes 1/2 cup marinade.
1/2 Tamari soy sauce 
1 tsp of grated fresh ginger 
1 tsp of sambal oelek chili sauce 
1 tsp of miso 
1 tsp of maple syrup 
Mix everything until well combined. Pour it over baked sweet potatoes and leave it for at least 10 min. .

Weekend is nearly over :( but grateful for the amazing day I've had! 1hr 40min walk this morning with the most beautiful views (combination of coastal + woods), cuddles with my boys 🐶🐶 food prep PLUS I baked some banana bread 😍 (really great recipe on Kayla's website!)
